Open Source organisations around Australia offer a vast array of events, services and information. These Linux user groups, developer clubs and business focussed organisations form a healthy network if people supporting Australia's Open Source industry.

  • Linux Australia - Linux Australia is Australia's national Linux community organisation.
  • OSDC - Open Source Developers Club - loose federation of PHP, Perl, Python and Ruby developer groups.
  • AUUG - Australian Unix and Open Systems Users' Group.
  • OzZope - Australians and others interested in Zope and Plone open source software.
  • SAGE-AU - aims to advance the profession of System Administration by raising awareness of the need for System Administrators, and educating System Administrators in technical as well as professional issues.

  • FOSSACT - FOSSACT is a user group focussed on promoting and supporting the use of free and open source software in Business and Government in the Australian Capitol Terrority and surrounding regions.
  • Melbourne Perl Mongers
  • Melbourne PHP Users Group - The Melbourne PHP User Group is a group of enthusiastic local programmers who get together every month and discuss Open Source technologies with a focus on PHP and associated topics.
  • Open Source Tasmania
  • Open Source Victoria was started with funding from a Victorian state government industry cluster initiative.
  • Open Source WA - The WA government launched this Open Source initiative.
  • OSBNSA - The Open Source Business Network of South Australia is a group of like-minded businesses and individuals who believe there is a strong business case for the use of open source software.
  • SLPWA - The Society of Linux Professionals (Western Australia) Incorporated is a non-profit professional association for Western Australians using Linux and other open source software to provide technology solutions.
  • SYD::PHP supports developers of PHP, an Open Source web programming language, in the Sydney region through monthly meetings and a web based forum.
